The brain child of Darren and Katie Williams the husband and wife team behind the well-respected dealership Grants SEAT. Following the acquisition of the business by the Marshall Motor Group at the end of 2013 Darren Williams was asked to work for one of the UK’s largest motor dealer groups by his personal friend and the Chief Executive of Marshall. “I was really flattered that Daksh and his management team felt that I could add value to such an already exceptional organisation but as time passed I really did find it difficult not to be my own boss” said Darren. “Having spent over five and a half years as the Managing Director of Williams of my own business you become used to making decisions and taking positive action very quickly because the chain of command is so short!” he added.
So we asked why did you start a consultancy business and why call it Elements?
“In all honesty it was to some degree borne out of frustration. In my many years working in the retail motor industry I have seen senior management/executives become frustrated and to a degree ineffective because they lack either the capacity or time to think about the challenges that face their businesses. They (and that included me) spend more time with their head buried in reporting and reviewing history than putting actions into place that would positively impact the future and that’s where I think a real opportunity exists.”. Darren went on to say “We at Elements are looking to support proactive management teams with skills and experience in areas such as Performance Management, Structured Recruitment, Effective Process Implementation, Marketing and Customer Centric Behaviours. Our tailored programmes deal with the fundamental and core aspects, or as we refer to them Elements, of the operation and look to bring sustainable improvements”
